Calletano Joseph Macias

God knew that the world would never be the same the day that Calletano Joseph Macias took his first breath on October, 3, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois. Calletano was the son of Enrique Macias and Juanita Ramos and first among 12 siblings. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois and moved shortly after his mothers passing. The family then moved to Pajacuarán Michoacán, Mexico/Mexico City, Mexico and lived there for about three years before moving to Los Angeles, California. The family moved around a bit more before eventually settling in Hacienda Heights, California. Calletano attended Roosevelt High School, Los Angeles, California and graduated with the class of 1974. In 1977 he met Oralia Villarreal and married in 1985. They had their first child, Michael in 1986 and five years later their daughter Sarah was born. After 23 years of marriage, Calletano and Oralia divorced. Calletano never hesitated to go above and beyond when it came to kids. He was a dedicated father and loved his kids with all his heart. If you ask them, he was perfect in every way –loved unconditionally, caring, giving, more than a best friend. He will be greatly missed! He later found love again when he met Maria Chavez. He re-married and happily created a new home with Maria and built their family. During his marriage to Maria he discovered he had a love for traveling. Both he and Maria took several trips throughout each year and always came back excited to share his journey with his loved ones. Calletano loved his family and friends. He was a very social, loving, and outgoing person and built many life-long friendships throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time visiting family and friends with a cold beer in hand. Whether it was a Birthday party, a Raider game or a Boxing match. When he was with his family and friends he loved to joke around and laugh. Telling stories was something you would definitely encounter whenever he got together with others. Calletano touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered. His legacy will be his compassion, love, and generosity that he had for everyone he loved. Although Calletano will be physically absent from us, he is now present in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. His spirit will remain with us because he will live on within every one of our hearts.
