Alicia Monique Vargas' Obituary

A current resident of Cherry Valley, was suddenly called to her eternal resting place on Friday, May 20, 2022 at the age of 35.
Born to Ramona Valdez and Arcelio Hernandez as the 4th of 7 children. She was born and raised in Colton and graduated from Washington High School in 2004. She attended San Bernardino Valley College before moving into the workforce. Alicia held various jobs in the food service, retail, administrative and automotive retail industry before moving on to a position with the County of San Bernardino. She was just beginning her career with the Transitional Assistance Department.
Alicia was a kind, patient, loving person who always put the needs of others before her own. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and overjoyed grandmother. She enjoyed listening to music, ranging from Spanish, Rock and R&B. She was a foodie who appreciated a good meal and had recently discovered a love for cooking, always eager to try out a new recipe for her family. She loved going to Angels games, traveling with her family, exploring new places and trying new foods.
She loved her big family and enjoyed spending quality time with all of her siblings, nieces and nephews. She was a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on when needed. She spread joy anywhere she went. Alicia was a beautiful soul who will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of meeting her. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, strong will and determination.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Alfred and Eloise Garcia and Ramon Cordova.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur John Vargas of Cherry Valley; daughters Monique Lizarde and Mia Guerrero of Colton and step children Larissa, Leanna and baby AJ of Redlands; granddaughter Athena Sgambelluri; parents Ramona Valdez and Arcelio Hernandez of Colton, sister Regina (Michael) Kolle of Arizona; Dina (Anthony) Ramos of San Bernardino; Vincent Valdez of Colton, Anthony (Herlinda) Garcia of Arizona, Roger (Ashley) Sanchez of Washington; Arcelia Hernandez of Colton; and 13 nieces and nephews.
