Mrs. Anita Galvan Gomez-Bennett's Obituary
Anita Gomez-Bennett was born in San Bernardino, CA. She was the youngest of nine children born to Demetrio and Catalina Gomez. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Bennett of Falls Church, VA and her last remaining sibling, Albert Gomez of Rialto, CA. Anita attended Ramona Elementary, Alessandro Junior High and San Bernardino High School. Her higher education included Chapman College of Orange, CA, University of California, Berkeley and Harvard School of Public Administration, Boston, Ma, where she received degrees in Spanish Language and Latin American History, Education and counseling and was a California Certified Teacher. She served in the U.S. Air Force and in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Anita's career consisted mainly in the service of the U.S. Federal Gov't, ultimately, serving as Chief, Office of Equal Opportunity, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 14. Visitation will be at Preciado Funeral Home from 10am-12pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe in San Bernardino at 12:30pm with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in San Bernardino.
