Daniel B. Castorela's Obituary
Daniel B. Castorela, 74, of Highland, CA., passed away on November 26, 2020, in San Bernardino, CA. Daniel was born in 1946 in Arcelia, Guerrero, Mexico to Pantalion Castorela and Bartola Bautista. At an early age Daniel spent his time in his beloved Mexico, where he would learn to care for cattle and work the land, often only earning enough money for food. After many years of hard work, he decided to explore other parts of Mexico and bought a bus ticket for Mexicali, Mexico. Being a man who valued working hard, he prided himself in finding work the same night he arrived in Los Angeles. Within a short time, Daniel met his love, Lupe in La Puente, CA., at a local dance spot on Valley Boulevard, the rest was history. Daniel would later spend many years working as a Machine Operator at Imperial Rubber Company in Chino, CA., and retired in 2016.
Daniel and Lupe were married for over 40 years until her passing in 2018.
He holds a special place in our hearts, and was known as Dad, Tata, Uncle, Compa, and Viejo. He will forever be remembered at the sound of Mariachis, a Dodger baseball game, and a Sunday watching the Raiders.
A viewing will be held for Daniel on Friday, December 11, 2020, at 2:30pm with a chapel service at 4:30pm at Preciado Funeral Home, 923 W. Mill Street, San Bernardino, CA 92410, 909.383.1108.
