In Loving Memory of Ernestina Jaramillo
Ernestina Jaramillo, 77, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2015 at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana. She was born on December 30, 1937 in Oxnard, California to Salvador Flores and Emilia Lopez. Ernestina grew up in San Bernardino and she resided in the City of Rialto for fifty-four years.
Ernestina received her high school diploma from Rialto Adult School. While raising five children, Ernestina worked as a seamstress for Mode O’Day. She eventually earned a nurse’s assistant certificate and worked at San Bernardino Community Hospital until her retirement in 1998. Ernestina also donated time to local public school programs, serving as a parent volunteer.
She is survived by her two daughters; Doris Gallagher of Newark, California and Nancy Strickert of Colton; three sons: Donald Jaramillo of Fontana; Denny Jaramillo of San Bernardino and David Jaramillo of Rialto; eight sisters: Rosa Brocamonte of Rialto, Antonia Alvarado of San Bernardino, Gloria Perez of Grand Terrace, Cruz Negrete of Colton, Rachel Mancha of San Bernardino, Matilda Estrada of San Bernardino, Irene Mejia of San Bernardino, Linda Flores of San Bernardino; three brothers: Francisco Flores of Arizona, Eulalio Flores of San Bernardino and Salvador Flores Jr. of San Bernardino. Ernestine was blessed with eight grandchildren: Melissa Hodson, Michelle Jaramillo, Jeffery Jaramillo, Daryl Jaramillo, Samuel Jaramillo, Amanda Jaramillo, Mathew Rosario, Andrew Strickert, and one great-grandchild, Jazmine Jaramillo. She is preceded in death by her husband Deonicio Jaramillo; sisters Lillian Alanis and Delores Villanueva; father Salvador Flores and mother Emilia Flores.
