Estela Hernandez's Obituary
Estela Hernandez peacefully entered her day of eternal rest on January 8, 2026. Her life was defined by love, faith, service, and a deep devotion to the people around her. Her warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Estela was born to her loving parents, Eva Hernandez and Javier Hernandez. Family was always at the center of her life. She was a devoted partner to Tom Neil and previously shared a chapter of her life with Miguel Lopez. She cherished her family deeply, including Myra Lopez, Michelle Lopez, Isaiah Guthrie, Janelle Guthrie, Araia Beardsley, Maurissa Gamble, Fantasia Lopez-Young, Germaine Young Jr., Malakai Guthrie, and Levi Guthrie. Estela attended Delano High School and dedicated her life to caring for others. As a childcare provider, she nurtured and guided many children, proudly supporting them at their school performances, award assemblies, and community outings. She also worked as a Zumba instructor, where she brought joy, motivation, and energy to those around her. Faith was a cornerstone of Estela’s life. Each morning she spent time reading her Bible before beginning her day. She was active in her church and community and always willing to lend a helping hand. Estela was known as a true social butterfly with a welcoming spirit. She was kind, charismatic, loyal, resilient, and resourceful. A self-taught problem solver, she believed in figuring things out and helping others along the way. She carried old-fashioned values of respect and dignity, always offering visitors food, a drink, and heartfelt conversation. One special moment that reflected her generous heart happened during a rainy day outside her church. When the street flooded and people struggled to cross, Estela opened the doors of her burgundy van so they could safely walk through it. Acts of kindness like this were simply who she was. Estela enjoyed riding her bike, hiking, exercising, tending to her yard and plants, caring for her animals, and attending family gatherings, parties, and swap meets. She loved music—especially R&B, reggaetón, salsa, bachata, Mexican music, and 80’s hits. She was also known for enjoying her homemade chili and many favorite foods she loved to share with others. Above all, Estela will be remembered for her heart of gold. Her kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit touched countless lives. Though she is deeply missed, her love, faith, and legacy will continue to live on through the many people whose lives she blessed.
