Gilbert Delgado Jr.'s Obituary
Gilbert Delgado Jr. passed away on February 24, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Gilbert was a lifelong baseball fan. He dedicated many years as a youth baseball coach and never missed a chance to watch a game. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandson Bryson play travel baseball. Those moments meant the world to him. Gilbert proudly served as a Union Shop Steward and Union Representative for the United Steelworkers Union Local 5632 in Fontana for many years. He was deeply committed to supporting and advocating for his fellow workers. He loved being outdoors — whether working in the yard or simply sitting outside enjoying the fresh air. More than anything, Gilbert treasured time spent with his family and friends. Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Sr.; his mother, Angela; and his brothers, Johnny and Rick. He is survived by his devoted wife, Vickie of San Bernardino; his son, Travis; daughter-in-law, Kristen; and grandsons, Bryson and Matix of Redlands. Gilbert is also survived by his sister, Maria Hughes of Lake Forest; brothers Gabe (Rose) of San Diego, Luis (Jeanette) of Arizona, and Tomas of Montana; sister-in-laws Connie of Pomona and Peggy of Alta Loma; along with many loving nieces and nephews. Gilbert’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he touched.
