Gilberto Pena Ochoa's Obituary
Gilberto Peña Ochoa was born on April 26,1961 to Jose Peña and Sara Ochoa in Mexico City. God called him home on January 21, 2020.
Gilberto was not only a passionate soccer fan but a passionate player as well! This led him to play at the college level for 2 years at the Technologico de Tijuana.
Gilberto was a God-fearing man. He began his walk with God at a young age as a youth leader with the Encuentros Ministry. Through this endeavor he touched many lives and made lifelong friends. He continued to serve God even up until his final weeks.
He was a hardworking man. Gilberto worked as a windshield technician for over 30 years with an unmatched work ethic.
Gilberto married Silvia Osorio on October 10, 1989 and the convalidation of their marriage before God took place on July 12, 1997. He was a great husband, amazing father, fantastic grandfather, good son, loving brother, terrific uncle and loyal friend.
When diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, Gilberto remained dedicated to providing for his family and optimistic he would overcome the disease. He remained brave, even throughout his final weeks.
Gilberto is survived by his wife Silvia; his 4 children Mirna, Jonathan, Catalina and Gabriela; 5 grandchildren Pharoah, Andrew, Idris, Evelina and Beau; 1 son-in-law Luis Sanchez, 2 sisters & 4 brothers Rosendo, Gela, David, Elena, Ignacio (Nacho) and Oscar.
Gilberto requested to be cremated. A rosary and mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Parish located at 339 N. Sycamore Ave. Rialto, 92376 on February 19, 2020. The family will be wearing soccer jerseys in honor of Gilberto. All are welcome to participate in wearing a favorite soccer jersey.
The rosary will be at 10:00 am. Mass will begin at 11:00 am followed by a reception to celebrate Gilberto’s life, all are welcome. Reception will be in the hall at the church and will end at 3:00pm
