Henry Larry Sanchez, 79, passed away on January 31, 2026. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Henry Larry Sanchez was born on August 15, 1946, to Martha Marquez and Eloy Sanchez in Magdalena County, New Mexico. In his early adult years he made his way to California where he settled and lived the rest of his years. He worked in the steel and pipe industry beginning in 1968, spending approximately 45–46 years in pipe yards throughout Long Beach, Azusa, and Rialto. Over the course of his career, he worked for LB Foster, March Pipe, Comco, and Tubular Steel, where he was a pipe yard mechanic, forklift operator, tube builder, and pulled orders. A true jack of all trades, he maintained and repaired machinery and took on whatever needed to be done to keep operations running. Known as a dependable and an exceptionally hard worker, he was respected for his skill, versatility, and dedication to his work in the steel pipe industry. He retired from Tubular Steel in 2011.
In 2004, he met the love of his life, his wife, Lupe Murillo. They built a good life together. He was a kind and caring husband, he was good to Lupe and loved her very much. After Henry retired, they settled in Banning, CA.
Larry enjoyed spending time on his truck, and being in the company of Lupe in their backyard with their dogs, Mona, Macho, and Teddy. He enjoyed quality time with his family. When he was able to, he enjoyed going to New Mexico to visit his family. His family in California and his family in New Mexico was Larry's joy.
Larry is survived by his wife, Lupe Murillo of Banning, California, daughter Lori Sanchez, son Larry Sanchez Jr., stepdaughter Ana Cervantes, and stepsons George Aguilar and Sergio Rodarte. He has 13 grandchildren altogether, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Larry was a kind soul. He was a humble and giving person. He enjoyed being in the company of other's, family gatherings were the highlights of his life. He will be missed by those who loved him.
