Irma "Mima" Lugo Story's Obituary
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother Irma Lugo Story was born December 13, 1927 in Palmirito Mineral, Sinaloa, Mexico. She took her last breath in her home of over 40 years n November 12, 2021 in San Bernardino, California. Mima as everyone knew her, was a proud Mother and Grandmother. She was a constant figure in everyone of her family members lives and the pillar of the family. Always the first to call on our birthday's she never forgot to tell us she loved us. Grandma showed her love in many ways especially through her cooking. She enjoyed the kitchen table. Being in her presence meant eating and laughing. She was the best at telling joes and had the most contagious laugh, she was sweet yet stern woman and when Mima said no, it meant No. She loved her children but had a very dear and special place in her heart for her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Grandma was a very independent and strong woman. She left her beloved Sinaloa in 1969 in hopes of providing her children a better future. She painfully said good bye to all six of her kids including her mother and made her way north. By fate she met and fell in love with her beloved husband Alton W. Story and his three children who she would love and raise as her own. Grandma and Alton shared their love for cooking. Which they then passed down to all of their children. Grandma was the happiest around her family. She lived for us and would do anything for us. She was so proud of her children, of every accomplishment and every milestone. She made sure we were always good and even till her las days put our needs before hers. Grandma, your voice, your laugh, your recipes, and your teachings, will live on through us. Thank you Lord for allowing us to know and love this remarkable woman who we had the honor of calling Mom & Grandma.
