Julia Torres Prado's Obituary
Born in Los Angeles, California, Julie eventually moved with her family to Barstow before settling in San Bernardino in 1951, where she resided for over 50 years. The eldest of 14 children, she was known for her heart of gold and her deep love for both her family and animals.
Julie had a long and dedicated career serving the County of San Bernardino. She worked for the Department of Public Works and spent 20 years at the original County Hospital on Gilbert Street, from which she eventually retired. In her personal time, she enjoyed decorating her home and shopping at thrift stores and Olvera Street in Los Angeles.
Julie is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Prado; her mother, Rosario Monreal; her father, Arnulfo Torres; her brothers, Elias (Tito) Monreal, Armando Monreal, Cesar Monreal, and Mikito Romero; and her sisters, Dolores (Lolie) Adame and Armida Salgado.
She is survived by her brothers, Richard (Shorty) Torres and Louis (Louie) Monreal; her step-children, Debi Talayumptewa and Nick Prado; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
