Kay L. Ewing's Obituary
Kay Lorraine Ewing of Spring Valley Lake in Victorville passed-away on July 5, 2015 following a short illness.
Kay Ewing was born on December 9, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert W. and Lucille Rhines. Kay spent her early years in Ohio prior to her family moving to Hollydale, California. Kay attended Paramount High School, and in 1953 she met and married Allen Fred Ewing, Jr., who also lived in Hollydale and whose family had also come from Ohio.
In 1958 Kay and Allen bought a house on Fourth Avenue in Covina where they and their four children, Robert, Debbie, Diane and William, lived until 1981. Kay loved having lived in Covina, and during those years Kay dedicated her time and energies in supporting her husband Allen in the remodeling their well-kept home and in the raising of their children, enjoying the company of close neighbor-friends along with her love of cooking and reading.
Kay and Allen moved to the High Desert in 1983, first living in Victorville and later in Apple Valley. In 2000 Kay and Allen moved to Spring Valley Lake, and Kay continued to live in their home there after Allen's passing in 2010.
Kay Ewing is survived by her two sons, Robert Ewing and William Ewing, each of Victorville; twin daughters, Debbie Berndt of Victorville and Diane Amico of Santa Ana; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In honor of Kay's life, visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Preciado Funeral Home, 923 W. Mill St., San Bernardino, CA. A graveside memorial service for Kay will take place at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2015.
