Maria M. Montanez (Luz Torres Montanez) aka “Mama Luz “- born on July 1st 1932 in Guanajuato Mexico. Mama Luz will be desperately missed and lovingly remembered. she was a beautiful and gracious wife, mother, grandmother ,great grandmother ,mother in law, aunt and friend. Mama Luz is survived by her Husband of of 72 years, Guadalupe Montanez, children- Juan Montanez, Lupita Acevedo, Alfredo Montañez, Enrique Montañez, Lucy Estrada and Jose Montañez. Preceded in death by daughters Elena Montañez and Ana María Montañez. She leaves us with a legacy of love and will be missed by all who knew her.
On the evening of July 12th, our light and matriarch, Luz Maria Montanez, took her last breaths here on earth-side to pass through the veil. Lovingly known as Mama Luz by her loved ones, she left an everlasting impact on her family and anyone who crossed paths with her fiery personality. From humble beginnings, she always strived her hardest to give her kids the best life she could. Through many struggles as a young woman and mother, she continuously pushed ahead, setting an exemplary display of fierceness and strength. Even with countless health scares and surgeries, she never let her guard down, cracking witty jokes and confidently letting you know her opinion. She was a firecracker, but we wouldn’t have it any other way, she is deeply missed. Forever in our hearts, an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, we will always love you.
Viewing will be from 4:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Preciado Funeral Home, 923 W. Mill Street, San Bernardino, California. Graveside service will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, California

Mamá Luz será desesperadamente extrañada y amorosamente recordada. era una bella y amable esposa, madre, abuela, bisabuela, suegra, tía y amiga. Mama Luz es sobrevivida por su esposo de 72 años, Guadalupe Montanez, hijos- Juan Montanez, Lupita Acevedo, Alfredo Montañez, Enrique Montañez, Lucy Estrada y José Montañez En la noche del 12 de Julio, nuestra luz y matriarca, Luz María Montánez, tomó su último aliento aquí en el lado de la tierra para pasar por el velo. Conocida amorosamente como Mama Luz por sus seres queridos, dejó un impacto eterno en su familia y en cualquiera que se cruzara con su ardiente personalidad. Desde sus humildes comienzos, siempre se esforzó al máximo por dar a sus hijos la mejor vida que pudo. A través de muchas luchas como joven y madre, siguió adelante continuamente, mostrando una muestra ejemplar de ferocidad y fuerza. Incluso con innumerables sustos y cirugías de salud, ella nunca bajó la guardia, haciendo chistes ingeniosos y haciéndote saber su opinión con confianza. Ella era un petardo, pero no lo tendríamos de otra manera, la echamos mucho de menos. Para siempre en nuestros corazones, una esposa increíble, madre, abuela, bisabuela, siempre te amaremos.
