Michael Todd Holt's Obituary
Michael Todd Holt was born on August 11, 1963, to the union of Willie C. Holt and Mary Holt Potts in San Bernardino, California. Michael was also commonly known as Todd and Wood. At an early age, Michael joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by Dr. Robert L. Fairly. He was an integral part of the youth programs within the church and was excited about learning and serving the Lord.
Michael completed his primary and secondary education in the San Bernardino school system. As a senior in high school, he participated in the Beautillion, which was sponsored by the Socialites Incorporated of San Bernardino. Michael triumphed and was crowned, “Sir Knight”. He was awarded the privilege to travel to seven countries of the European continent. He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1981. After high school, he pursued his passion for music and became known as DJ “Mr. T” and was known throughout the community.
At the age of 22, he began his career with the city working in the Refuse Department, hanging on the back of a garbage truck tossing cans. It was there he made several lifelong friends. Michael’s hard work, dedication and sacrifice was to always ensure he provided for his family. He would go on to retire with the Water Department on December 31, 2020, after 35 ½ years of service.
In 1985, Michael met his best friend and love of his life, Connie, also known as “Swell”. They married on July 1, 1995 and raised four wonderful children. Throughout their marriage they adventured to Hawaii, Europe, and the Middle East. Michael and Connie made God the center of their lives and marriage, and together they served the Lord as members of Sunrise Church in Rialto, CA. Their love and companionship have influenced many throughout the years.
Michael not only had a passion for music, but he also loved casino trips with his mom, fishing with his dad, manicuring his lawn, playing basketball, golfing, BBQing and making “Papa Sauce” for his infamous ribs. He enjoyed playing and watching all sports especially his San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Browns. He shared his knowledge of sports with his children and grandchildren by coaching several of their teams and was one of their biggest fans.
