Oscar Mauro Torres' Obituary
Oscar Mauro Torres,
Born on October 19, 1983 at General hospital in Los Angeles Ca.
Entered eternal glory on June 18, 2019, at the young age of 35.
He was the first born to Jesus Oscar & Rosemary Torres. He later became a big brother to Andrew, Priscilla & Yasmine.
He soon was lovingly nicknamed lil Oscar by everyone.
Lil Oscar & his family enjoyed many things together. Camping in the mountains & fishing. Never missing a Raiders football game or a NASCAR race.
They had the best backyard BBQ’s with mandatory bonfires, and always had his favorite music playing which consisted of Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd among many others. In fact at age 15 he got his 1st guitar and learned to play Pink Floyd’s music.
Lil Oscar enjoyed binge watching movies with his mother Rosemary, that was one of the special bonds they shared. he also enjoyed watching cooking shows. Not nearly as much as he enjoyed his favorite meals prepared by his aunties Alma, Arcy & Yvonne.
He was humble and kind. And quick to forgive. Truly a good man who longed for the simple things in life.
He was loved by everyone in his large extended family. Which includes dozens of cousins that he had very close relationships with. One of his favorite things was the annual trip out to Magic Mountain with his male cousins & brother Andrew.
Lil Oscar & Andrew were the best of friends. They often played video games late into the night & would wake people up because of their laughter. Andrew would buy lil Oscar most if not all of the crazy t-shirts he wore (you know which ones... the boobie shirts) good grief, he had such a funny sense of humor!
He loved his sisters dearly ! He really enjoyed participating in Halloween with them, and boy he enjoyed teasing them a lot too. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. He was truly an amazing big brother.
His absences will be felt deeply in every family get together. This void will forever be with us.
Not seeing his beautiful smile, and hearing his laughter & his jokes will be heartbreaking for everyone.
But we have a blessed hope. Lil Oscar had put his faith in Lord Jesus Christ as a young man. And through out his illness he longed to be well and often questioned God. But as God would have it he never let him go. In lil Oscars last days, Gods merciful hand was at work. Lil Oscars faith in his Lord was strongly evident, praise be to God.
We take such comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of our Lord and that he was welcomed in heaven by his paternal grandparents Mauro & Lydia & uncles Robert and Jesse. What a beautiful reunion that must have been.
Our heart felt gratitude to everyone that gathered around us & kept the family and lil Oscar in prayer throughout this most difficult time. Your prayers are evidenced in the peace we have in our hearts and the hope that is in Gods promise that we will see him again. What a Glorious Day that will be !
Until that day, let us love one another and enjoy every moment we have. May Our Lord’s comfort & peace be with us all.
