Graced this earth with her beautiful presence for sixty five remarkable years. Born October 15, 1959, to Wilhelmina & Richard Williams, in San Bernardino California. Sandra Entered Into Light beautifully, surrounded by Family and Friends on Sunday, January 19, 2025, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come. Sandra’s life journey was a testament to Faith, dedication, and unwavering love for family, friends and children with special needs.
Sandra’s early years were marked by her education at, Cajon High School, of San Bernardino, California. It was during these formative years that she met the love of her life, Paul A. Marzullo (Married 1982-2025). She not only excelled academically, but socially, serving as a member of Associated Student Body, Campus Debar for Harris Company and Cheerleader, displaying a strong work ethic and determination that would define her character throughout her life.
As she continued her education, Sandra found herself at, California Sate University San Bernardino, majoring in Business. Decades later, Sandra went a step further, graduating from, The University of Southern California (USC), with her Practicum degree in Special Education, successfully starting her Private Practice as, Special Education Consultant, helping countless children for over thirty three years. Her own children benefited greatly from her work and research, affording them the services to become strong, independent, contributing members of society. She was proud of each their successes and accomplishments.
Sandra’s personal life was dedicated to her Family, her Loving Husband, Paul A. Marzullo, Son, Paul R. Marzullo, Son Nicholas Marzullo and Daughter, Danielle Martinez (nee Marzullo). As a family, they spent many years together traveling, enjoying annual vacations on Catalina Island, countless weekends in the San Bernardino Mountains and enjoying their home together in Huntington Beach.
Sandra’s professional life was dedicated to special education, where she worked tirelessly fighting for the rights of children with special needs. Her commitment and unwavering dedication to children and their families, earned her numerous accolades and the respect of her peers, both professionally and personally.
For Sandra, the true reward was whitewashing the accomplishments and success of the children she represented, seeing first-hand, the fruits of her labor. In the late 90’s, Sandra served as, President of The International Dyslexia Association, Inland Empire Chapter, moving mountains for children and adults alike. In 2001, Sandra took Washington by storm, as she fearlessly lobbied on Capitol Hill, bringing awareness to the issues facing education, where she formed deep connections with like-minded individuals who shared her commitment to special education.
Her love for reading and research were infectious, and she strongly believed in the transformative power of literacy to transport on to different worlds and perspectives. She would often share her favorite books with family and friends, sparking lively discussions and fostering a love for reading in those around her.
Sandra’s love for her Family and Friends was unwavering. She took very seriously, The art of entertaining, welcoming guests into her home, especially at Christmas time, where she would decorate her home like the famous 5th avenue department store windows in New York. She entertained countless people in her home to share and see the excitement through their eyes. Her home adopted the name, “The House of Life,” by a dear family friend, as her loved ones entered and left with smiles on their faces, having known her love and how comfortable she made them feel. Her infectious love for family and friends created cherished moments of togetherness and celebration.
Sandra’s great joy were her grandchildren, she was a devoted advocate for them. She tirelessly supported Nicholas, who has autism and Kaylee, who faced learning difficulties, ensuring they received the support for their educational needs. She found joy in teaching, Giovanni’s his ABC’s, numbers, colors, and shapes. She loved sharing her love for reading with all her grandchildren. She was immensely proud of them and cherished every moment spent with together. We know she would have done the same with her expecting fourth grandchild. Her dedication to her family was profound was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Sandras life was not without challenge, she exhibited remarkable resilience when she faced the loss of her beloved father, Richard Williams, who passed away during her birthday celebration in, 1992. Her strength, kindness and unwavering faith was a testament to her character. Family and Friends alike were inspired by her ability to navigate adversity with grace and fortitude. Her strength was unmatched as she faced lung issues due to the long-term effects of COVID-19 and a leukemia diagnosis in 2023, all in which she faced with great strength and bravery. A true warrior and passion for life.
Sandra’s life, in its entirety, was a testament to the power of love, faith, strength, education and resilience. Her impact on the lives of those who knew her will forever be cherished. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. To know her was to love her.
