David Antonio Palomino's Obituary
David was the 7th child of Gilbert and Rose (Ramirez) Palomino. After being born he came home to 1048 “L” Street and that is where he lived his entire life, from January 17, 1957 to February 6, 2026. He attended nearby schools and graduated from SBHS in 1975. He was a talented artist who completed many paintings, signs, and even some large murals. In his daughter’s opinion, he was a connoisseur of music. He had quite a collection of albums and memorabilia related to his favorite artists.
He was resourceful, frugal and ingenious. Looking at him and his abode, you had to admit that he was unconventional! He lived life on his own terms.
One may have his own opinion of David, but you knew he loved America, was proud of the veterans in his life and loved his Hispanic heritage. To say that David liked the superhero, Batman is an understatement. Not only did he gather those superhero collectibles, he was Batman. Some called him the Batman of “L” Street. David spent a lot of time keeping up his classic station wagon. He also enjoyed watching his “Stooges” and classic horror movies on t v. One of his last jobs was delivering car parts. Although he wore lots of hats (figuratively and literally,) his most important job was being dad to his only daughter and grandfather to his grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter, Jannina (Luis), grandkids Ezekiel David, Lina Rose Gatica (Angel), and Caiden, also siblings, Gilbert (Anna), Connie (Steve), Frank (Priscilla), Cecilia (Al), Marty (Sofia), Edward (Norma), Rose (James), Johna, Jose (Tila), also many, many nephews and nieces.
David’s granddaughter takes comfort in thinking that her grandfather was a keeper of all God’s creation and his spiritual essence will live on.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary’s Table (641 Roberd’s Avenue, San Bernardino).
Memorial Service for David will be at 10:00am on Monday, March 2, 2026 with a reception thereafter from 12:00pm to 4:30pm both at Preciado Funeral Home, 923 W. Mill Street, San Bernardino, California
