Guadalupe Salgado Aldama's Obituary
Guadalupe S. Aldama aka Lupe "The Barber". 96 of Colton, California passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by Family. Lupe was born on December 12, 1929, in the City of Bell Town, (Riverside) California to Savina and Francisco Xavier Aldama. Lupe graduated from Poly High School in Riverside, California and worked all his life until he retired as Colton's Barber at the age of 95. He first began working in the fields at the age of 12, at 16 he worked at the Rock Quarry in Victorville, California at 18 he began working at Colton Cement Plant, as well as going to Barber School at RCC until he was 24 and received his Barber license. Lupe was Colton's Barber for 71 years until he retired at 95. Lupe was an icon in the City of Colton and received many awards from the City of Colton. At the age of 90 he was asked by a City Representative "when are you going to retire" and he responded, "I'm not retiring, retiring is for old people".
Lupe married Rosalind Soria when he was 23, together they welcomed 7 children Jack, James, Jeffrey, Jody, Jerry, Corina, and Lupe Jr. Lupe was a kind, giving, hard working person who loved his clients, going fishing, going to the horse races and he most loved going to the casinos. Lupe will be greatly missed by everyone, especially his grandchildren who adored him dearly. He made them all feel special and kept them laughing with all his stories.
Lupe is survived by his sons, Jack Aldama, Jody Aldama (Sandy), Jerry Aldama, Lupe Aldama Jr. (Bernadette) and Daughter, Corina Ceballos. In addition, Lupe had 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Lupe is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosalind Aldama, and 2 sons James Aldama and Jeffrey Aldama. As well as his 14 siblings: Daniel, Rudy, Blanch, Marty, Jess, Fank, Beatrice, Katherine, Henry, Rachael, Helen, Angel, Joe and David.
A Visitation will be held on May 20, 2026, from 10am-11:30am, Chapel service from 11:30am - 1:00pm at Preciado Funeral Home in S.B. burial to follow immediately at Montecito Memorial Park in Colton. Reception will be held after burial at the Teamsters Local 63 park in the city of Rialto.
